1. Eligibility & Application Checklist
Basic Requirements
(1) Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy, without medical history of infectious disease and mental disorders; Applicants must have complete educational and working experiences, without criminal records; Applicants genuinely intend to study Chinese history and cultures, respect Chinese customs, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government as well as the rules and regulations of the University.
(2) Under the age of 25. High school diploma or the equivalent. Applicant shall provide high school diploma obtained from schools certified by the Ministry of Education of home country.

Applicants shall meet one of the conditions 1-3, and meet condition 4. 1. The applicant's native language is English or the official language is English; 2. The medium language of applicants' highest education qualification is English; 3. International English language tests scores: Academic IELTS overall score 6.0, with all bands 5.5 or above; TOEFL overall score 85 with all bands 20 or above, or the equivalent; GRE score 300 or above; Duolingo scores of 95 or above. 4. Applicants must pass the English test after the registration. |

Identity Verification
(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
(2) Applicants who were Chinese citizens and then emigrated to other countries and acquired nationality should hold the non-Chinese passport for 4 years and above, and have records of actual residence at least for 2 years (9 months actual residence can be calculated as one year, subject to the exit/ entry records) outside of China in the last 4 years (by April 30 of the enrollment year).
(3) The admission only starts after the verification of applicant's documents by Exist-Entry Administration Bureau of Qinhuangdao Public Security Bureau.
Application Checklist
(1) Complete the online registration system http://admission.ysu.edu.cucas.cn (with photos) and generate the application form. Note: A description of your complete and consecutive educational or working experiences from junior middle school to the highest education qualification must be provided.
(2) Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (by the admission, the certificate must be less than six months old).
(3) Passport copies (photograph page), passport is not renewable from the time of application to the entry to China with a valid visa.
(4) Student Identity Certification or graduation certificate copies (non-Chinese or English versions must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations).
(5) Copies of high school transcripts (non-Chinese or English versions must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations).
(6) Copies of language proficiency certificate (valid New HSK-4 for Chinese medium programs and valid English language proficiency certificate for English medium programs are required).
(7) Recommendation letters from two course teachers.
(8) Police Certificate (non-school students shall provide Police Certificate. The certificate should be less than six months old, if valid date is unspecified; If the validity period is indicated, the materials shall prevail; Students enrolled shall provide a proof of school/university performance instead).
(9) Personal bank statement as evidence of financial support ($5,000 USD above, evidence of relationship must be provided in the case of parents being sponsors).
(10) Registration fee CNY 600 (The scanned copy of the bank receipt needs to be uploaded to online application system).
2. Application Guide
(1) Login the online application system at http://admission.ysu.edu.cucas.cn, and upload all the HD scanned version of the documents required. Images captured by mobile phone or camera and copies are not acceptable.
(2) Pay the registration fee, and upload the scanned version of bank receipt to application system. The application fee is unrefundable.
(3) The enrollment for degree programs is provided in the Fall Semester (generally September). Guarantee all the information and application documents submitted in this application are authentic, accurate, and compete, otherwise the application will not be processed or declined, and applicants bear the consequences.

4. Fee Policy
The fees policy was made in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education and the standards approved by the Hebei Provincial Price Management Department. All fees are counted in CNY.
The international students who discontinue the study can apply to the School for permission. The refund application shall be processed in accordance with the "Yanshan University Expense Regulations for International Students".

5. Student Status Administration
Study Duration
(1) A flexible academic system is adopted for international students in China.
(2) The study duration for undergraduate international students can be extended to 6 years (including suspension and demotion) based on the standard 4-year academic system.
(3) International students are exempt from paying tuition during the period of suspension and military service.
Academic Regulation
The credit system is adopted in undergraduate programs. International student shall complete the courses of curriculum as required by the University. In principle, international students shall attend the courses with Chinese students of the same specialty except for the class-based programs. The courses for undergraduate students are divided into required courses and elective courses. The courses selected in each semester must meet the credit requirements specified in the curriculum plan. International students complete the course selection procedures online in the Academic Affairs Management system.
Graduation and Degree Awarding
Undergraduate students who have completed all the requirements stipulated in the academic plan are permitted to graduate, and the graduation certificate will be conferred.
According to the "Regulations on Degree of the People's Republic of China", the eligible undergraduate graduates will be awarded bachelor degrees.
Change of Student Status
International students who apply for suspension, transfer, withdrawal, change of study program, change of student category, extension, or early completion of studies should apply to the School of International Education and go through relevant procedures after obtaining approval.
