YSU President Scholarship is established to support self-funded international students, including doctoral students, master's students, undergraduates, and preparatory students. Chinese government scholarship holders and international Chinese teacher scholarship holders are not eligible for the YSU President Scholarship application. A comprehensive evaluation will be conducted for eligible international students. The evaluation and distribution of scholarships will be carried out in accordance with the Yanshan University Measures on Annual Reviews of President Scholarship for International Students.

2. Eligibility
Applicants must meet the basic requirements of Yanshan University for international students. Applicants must be friendly to China, have good academic performance, strictly abide by Chinese laws, social ethics, and rules and regulations of Yanshan University, have good overall qualities, and maintain high ethical standards. The specific requirements are as follows:
★ To apply for the scholarship for Doctoral students, applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements, and those with multiple qualifications are preferred.
1) The average academic achievement of master's study is above 80;
2) Master's degree thesis rated with good result or above;
3) Applicants for Chinese medium programs must obtain a certificate of HSK level 5 or above; for English medium programs, IELTS scores of 6.5 or above, TOEFL scores of 85 or above, Duolingo scores of 105 or above, or the equivalent English proficiency and above;
4) Published high-level academic papers being the first author or corresponding author in academic journals.
3. Application procedures
1) Log on to the websitehttps://ies.ysu.edu.cn to download the application form and submit the following materials:
●Application form for "YSU President Scholarship' in duplicate;
●Notarized highest education/degree certificate. If the applicant is a student at school/university or is already employed, he/she must also submit an enrollment certificate issued by the institution or employment certificate provided by the employer. Non-Chinese or English versions must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
●Academic transcripts. Non-Chinese or English versions must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
● The HD scanned version of original language proficiency certificate.
● The HD scanned version of original competition and contest awards.
● The HD scanned version of original works or articles published in academic journals.
● The HD scanned version of supporting original documents of talents or expertise certified by a national professional association.
● Other supporting materials.
Note: The originals of the above materials need to be reviewed and verified at enrollment
2) The School of International Education will review and verify the applications, and forward the eligible applications to the YSU President Scholarship committee for evaluation. The committee is composed of members of the YSU International Student Admission Group.
3) The YSU President Scholarship committee will propose the list of winners based on review of the School's comments and applicant's materials (applicant interview can be organized when necessary).
4) The nomination list will be posted and publicized on the relevant websites for seven working days. After the publicity, if there are no objections, YSU School of International Education will inform the successful candidates of the result with written notification.
5) International students who have received scholarships shall go through the registration procedures before the date specified by the School, otherwise they will be treated as automatically waiving scholarships.
