International Students’ Enrollment Instructions
Yanshan University
Yanshan Universityis located at the historic tourist city of Qinhuangdao, 260 km northeast ofthe capital Beijing. It is famous for its mild climate and beautiful coastline. UNESCOWorld Cultural Heritage site the Great Wall of China starts from here. The Shanhai Pass, The Old Dragon Head and the summer resort Beidaihe Beach put Qinhuangdao on the map as one of the top 40 tourist attractions in China.
Programs
Ⅰ. Short-term Chinese Language Program
Short-term language programs usually take place in July. The duration of study is three weeks, with 26 class hours per week. According to the requirements of students and their Chinese language proficiency,the courses may include comprehensive Chinese, Chinese listening, speaking, and Chinese culture.
Ⅱ. Long-term Chinese Language Program
A long-term Chinese language program begins in March and September respectively. The duration of each program can be one semester, one year, or two years. These programs cover five different proficiency levels of Chinese, starting from elementarylevel(I and II), intermediate level(I and II) and advanced level. After a certain period of study, international students can apply for the HSK examination.
Major courses for long-term Chinese learners include: Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese speaking, Chinese Listening, Chinese Reading, Chinese Culture, Business Chinese, Audio-visual Chinese, and HSK Intensive Training etc.
Ⅲ. Degree Programs
International students who have obtained HSK certificatesat a required level can apply for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree programs at Yanshan University.

Application Information/how to apply
Ⅰ.Application prerequisites
Non-Chinese citizens, age 16 or above, healthy, with an educational level of or above high schoolgraduationmay apply for language and undergraduate programs. Students who apply for master’s degree programs should have an educational level of or above bachelor’s degree, and be under the age of 40. Students who apply for doctoral degree programs should have an educational background of or above master’s degree, and be under the age of 45.
II. Procedures of Application and Enrollment
1. Applicantsshould submit the following materials to the School of International Exchange:
(a)Application form with photo (download)
(b) Resume (download)
(c) Copy of Certificate of highest degree or certificate of university education; (needs to be translated to Chinese or English)
(d) Copy of passport (the page with photo)
(e) Physical examination record forforeigners (download)
(f) 400 RMB application fee for language programs; 600 RMB application fee for undergraduate programs; 800 RMB application fee for master and doctoral degree programs. (Application fee 800RMB should be paid after arrival.).
Beside the materials above, international students who apply for undergraduate programs should also provide academic record of high school education, a photocopy of HSK-4certificate and two letters of recommendation. Students who apply for master’sor doctoral degrees should provide academic record of undergraduate and master studies respectively, a photocopy of HSK-4certificate, personal statement and letter of recommendation from two associated professors or above.
2. Deadline of application submission:
(1)Language programs :Application Materials submitted for spring semester due on December 30th. Application Materials submitted for autumn semester due on June 30th.
(2)Undergraduate programs:June 30th.
(3)Master and Doctoral degree programs:April30th.
3. The application documents will be reviewed and evaluated. The admission letter and JW202 Visa Application Form will sent out to applicants who are qualified.
4. Successful applicants will receive Admission Letter and JW202 Visa Application Form for the convenience of your visa application. Students can apply for a student visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their country with these documents.
5. Successful applicants must register on the designated day stipulated in the Admission Letter. Applicants who can not register at the university on time must inform the College of International Exchange in advance. A failure to register on time will result in cancelation of candidature to study at the university.
Note: Each applicant is required to provide four 2-inch photos (passport size) and six 1-inch photos when registering at the university.

Each room has two beds.
Each room is equipped with refrigerator, microwave oven, TV, air condition, internet access. Internet is paid by the occupant.
Each unit is equipped with a shower (installed solar energy water heater), toilet and fully automatic washing machine.
