Notice on the Implementation of New Graduation Requirements of HSK Since Grade 2019
According to the newly issuedStandards for the Quality of Higher Education for Overseas Students in China (Trial Implementation), the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has put forward new requirements for the language competence of overseas students in China.
In disciplines and majors with Chinese as the primary teaching language, foreign students in China should be able to use Chinese to complete their study and research tasks smoothly, and have the ability to use Chinese to engage in the work related their majors. At the time of graduation, their Chinese ability should reach the level of HSK5.
In disciplines and majors with English as the primary teaching language, foreign students should be able to use English to complete relevant study and research tasks, and have the ability to use English to engage in the work related to their majors. At the time of graduation, the Chinese ability of undergraduates should reach the level of HSK4; Master and PHD students should reach at least the level of HSK3.
These requirements will be carried out since Grade 2019.
